CONTEXT
Within the BU Calderys Europe, the Iron & Steel segment serves key customers of the Steel industry, proposing not only refractory products, but also a full refractory solution, including service management of industrial equipment at the customer site, as well as full management of maintenance of large installations.
In order to maintain and enhance the quality of provided refractory services to its clients, as well as develop additional services, the Iron & Steel segment is creating the position of Local Site Supervisor with a first location at Arcelor Mittal Gent site (Belgium), but also the follow-up of others Steel Customers sites in the country.
MISSION
Local Site Supervisor (LSS) is in charge of the all the Calderys on-site activities at the customer site (on a major Steel customer plus additional small sites if required). Under the responsibility of the Sales Representatives in charge of this major customer and/or other sites, the LSS will supervise all operations and services that involve Calderys products and equipment.
Main responsibilities
Under the direct management of the Sales engineer Belgium for the segment t Iron & Steel, the job holder has the following responsibilities:
- In charge of the Calderys on-site activities at the customer site (for all departments).
- Preparation and planning/coordinating of the activities onsite, using Calderys own personnel or sub-contractors. He/she Is always in relation with the customer coordination team.
- Management of local sub-contractors working on behalf of Calderys
- Advise the customer on the usage/how to optimize the installation of the Calderys products
- Follow up of installations and generate reports of campaigns.
- Is able to follow up trials of new products/services and generate reports of trials.
- In case of issue: take all necessary steps to investigate and solve the issue
- Manage all the technical aspects that relates to refractories usage (machinery, analysis of breakdown, maintenance, etc…)
- Management of the local stock of Calderys products: in coordination with the customer, ensure the regular supply to maintain customer activity.
- Is responsible for the local Health and Safety environment, and is monitoring the correct implementation of all safety measures, respecting Calderys and customer policies. Ensure that all the proper documents are communicated and maintained for all our activities.
- Communication with the customer, participate to daily meetings with the engineers of all departments of the customer, in order to actively propose solutions and develop the business.
- Interaction with all the Calderys internal departments (Sales/Technical Support/R&D/EHS)
- Able to track and monitor competitor’s activities on-site, reacting to any event that may have an impact on Calderys business. Propose a solution to the customer, in case of an emergency.
