The Position

Product Stewardship Manager

Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY: 

The Product Stewardship Manager will Lead the implementation of Imerys Product Stewardship strategies and Product Stewardship best practices within their Business Area, to ensure regulatory compliance, minimize liability risk and add business value.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure regulatory compliance of domestic, export and import (in collaboration with importing location/BA(Business Area) products to all applicable country and application-specific product regulations (including any required declarations or registrations).

  • Proactively track and understand regulations impacting Paper & Board and Ceramics Markets (and secondary alignment to the respective Minerals); early communication of potential regulatory impacts to Paper & Board and Ceramics Markets via Product & Market Managers.

  • Working with the Product Stewardship Director of the BA, support the development of  Product Stewardship tools, systems, processes, policies, best practices and strategies; implement in Paper & Board and Ceramics Markets (and secondary alignment to the respective Minerals) work practices.

  • Ensure BA product portfolio on Paper & Board and Ceramics Markets (and secondary alignment to the respective Minerals) is risk assessed (health, environmental & liability exposures), including routine risk assessments for NPD/M&A projects. Regularly communicate results of risk analyses to BA Product & Market Mgrs linked to Paper & Board and Ceramics Markets and the respective Minerals.

  • Provide Paper & Board and Ceramics customers (and secondary alignment to respective Minerals) with comprehensive and compliant product safety information (SDS, Safety Bulletins etc.) that enables them to use Imerys products safely in their intended applications.

  • Respond to customer product stewardship inquiries with accurate and timely responses using templates approved by Legal. Track and archive all responses to customers.

ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Product Regulatory Compliance: legal compliance in the countries and applications served by the Business Area product portfolio

  • Product Safety Communication: legally compliant, comprehensive and accurate Business Area safety communications, primarily, but not exclusively, Safety Data Sheets (SDS)

  • Risk Assessments: availability of prioritized risk assessments across Business Area product portfolio

  • Customer Communication: management of Business Area customer product stewardship inquiries from receipt to response and closure

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree, Masters or PhD in a relevant scientific discipline

  • 5+ years of work experience in a relevant technical field

  • Seasoned technical practitioner preferably with product stewardship and/or product regulatory experience

  • Good understanding of chemical product regulations impacting relevant market/geography

  • Knowledge of systems/tools used to facilitate product regulatory compliance

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to stand ground under pressure

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to connect both internally and externally

  • Demonstrated capability to deliver results with a sense of urgency in a challenging environment

  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to react flexibly in fast-changing situations

  • Business acumen
