The Position

Procurement Specialist

Job Summary

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze requisitions, invoices, supply requests, and supply orders.
  • Track and monitor site's inventory and needs, and determine when to order or purchase new items.
  • Expedite and liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Complete special procurement requests and projects for the site as needed.
  • Review costs, develop relationships with vendors and suppliers, and offer suggestions for where and how much material and supplies to buy.
  • Create and maintain documentation as necessary for the procurement of materials and services.
  • Resolve issues concerning procurement and pricing disputes.
  • Support the contract management function by assisting with contract renewals, placing bids, discussing pricing, and monitoring all aspects of the terms of a contract.
  • Other related duties as assigned by site management.

Skills & Attributes Required:

  • Knowledge of the materials, products, and commodity markets for industrial manufacturing;
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel and/or G-Suite;
  • Strong communication skills, both electronically and verbally;
  • Willingness to create and maintain strong vendor/customer relationships;
  • Ability to work effectively as an individual with minimal direction, and as part of a larger team;
  • Meticulous attention to detail;
  • Superior organizational skills; and
  • Ability to quickly shift between tasks.

Education / Experience:

  • Minimum education: Associate’s degree in related discipline.
  • Preferred education:  Bachelor’s degree in related discipline.
  • Minimum experience:  3 – 5 years in related field.
  • Preferred experience:  Related experience with industrial production environment, Microsoft Dynamics AX, and/or Basware.
