The Position

Business Planning Director

Job Summary

Summary

The Business Planning Director manages the Demand & Sales and Operation Planning team on the Business Area (BA) perimeter to ensure alignment of functions and Top Management in delivery of mid to long-term business targets and improved customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Establish and execute the S&OP process, aligned with the Imerys Business Planning Roadmap

Supervises up to 6 S&OP processes in the Business Area (BA) through a team of up to 4 S&OP and Demand Planning managers
Develop and maintain an accurate demand forecasting process, incorporating business intelligence and forecast information from Segment and finance, for multiple time horizons
Runs the monthly BA executive S&OP meetings (senior management decision making meeting) and is able to articulate the key decision making process
Challenges Market segments on demand and get their sign off as a first step of the S&OP process
Challenges Product Managers in their recommended scenarios during the D/S reconciliation stage of S&OP
Build a valuable cross-functional knowledge of markets, assets, and products to be able to provide an independent view on any business planning topic.
Enable development of his team (data management, analytics, meeting lead, etc.), develop competencies and polyvalence and promote effective collaboration within team and across BA
Writes Executive S&OP meeting minutes, communicates key conclusions to stakeholders and ensure execution of follow-up of actions
Defines and ensures with his(er) team that key S&OP KPIs are maintained
Continuously review the S&OP process to ensure it suits business needs and is up to date with best practices in link with the dedicated task force
Key interfaces: strong partnership to be built with (i) Segments leadership, (ii) product management, (iii) Supply Chain, (iii) Operations; (iv) Purchasing; (v) Finance
Drives transformation and implements new BA organization and structure for his/her perimeter

Lead times, OTIF, Inventory level, adherence to S&OP plan, forecasts accuracy
