Purpose: To load finished product (small bag, big bag) calcined clay into shipping containers and dry vans per customer specifications; transport finished product within storage warehouse; and maintain facility and P&S equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1.     Receive instructions from the Inventory Coordinator.  Performs job duties in accordance with established work procedures, master shipping sheets, and instructions given.

2.     Load containers and vans with bagged finished product from inventory within the warehouse. Unloading of shuttle trucks and staging inventory.

3.     Monitor and record warehouse inventory of finished product in storage. Report low inventory and damaged finished product to the Inventory Coordinator (daily).

4.     Inspect, operate and maintain certification on mobile equipment (forklift).  Valid driver license is required.

5.     Conduct inspection of work area and equipment (each shift); report safety concerns and maintenance repair needs using appropriate system; complete all required forms including but not limited to the "area safety inspection".

6.     Maintain clean and safe work area.

7.     Follows all Imerys safety procedures.

8.     Wears appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and any additional safety equipment required while performing work tasks.

9.     Assist the warehouse in achieving all KPI (Key Performance Indicators) targets for the year.

10.  Performs other duties assigned by management.

Machines & Equipment Involved: Forklift

Working Conditions: Requires some overtime.  Works mostly in warehouse environment.  Duties split between indoor and outdoor work causing exposure to seasonal temperature variations, fumes, chemicals, dust, and allergens.  Works around moving machinery and on slippery surfaces. Exposed to noise >85 dB. Personal safety/health protection is required including eye, ear, head, and foot protection.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Able to read, write, and do basic math at high school or equivalent level.

Experience - (Preferred Background): Previous forklift  experience in kaolin production environment is preferred.  Job requirements will be taught by qualified trainer using the established operating procedures and work instructions for the position.

Skills Requirement: Required communication skills include verbal and nonverbal, listening/comprehension skills. Must be able to receive and understand verbal instructions, clearly describe conditions orally or in writing.  Candidate must also analyze and resolve minor process problems within the warehouse. Must have a valid driver's license. Needs good interpersonal relations and must be a team player.

Required Activities: Hearing:  Frequently, 51%-84% of work time.  Standing, walking, and handling objects: Constantly, more than 85% of work time.  Some climbing is required when getting into the forklift. Performing at a constant pace, in some instances, a rapid pace is required.   Lifting/carrying objects up to 50 lbs; pulling/pushing objects over 80 lbs.; standing, sitting, climbing to heights up to 50 feet and onto top of railcar; stooping/crouching, twisting, kneeling, reaching and talking:  Occasionally, up to 20% of work time. Good balance is required due to slippery conditions in the work area. Good dexterity is needed in order to properly hook and close big bags. Operate process/mobile equipment. .
