The Position

Sr. Executive - Geology & Mining

Job Summary

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• To implement computer based geological modelling using Surpac software in order to increase reliability of geology plans and create a computerized base on which to do long term mine planning.
• To modernise systems and provide an electronic format of documentation for efficient safekeeping through off site data storage and backup.
• Work with Geologist to create life of mine plans including safety requirements for each operation, once geological models are established, to. These plans are further converted into medium term and short term plans for mining support.
• To provide service on geological modelling, reserves and resources estimations, mine planning and rehabilitation of sites.
• To introduce Imerys “best practice” through exchanges and incorporating standards.

Outsourcing

• Procuring of raw materials (80% of outsourcing activities).
• Exploring of new mines.
• Obtaining samples, testing their properties, quality check etc
• Maintaining book of reports.
• Negotiating with the mine owners for purchasing the mines/ its raw materials.

Research:

• Provide inputs for the future developmental prospects.
• Thorough research & analysis has to be done on the various aspects of geology to improve our quality & increase sales.

The aim is to modernise and improve Imerys knowledge of its deposits and introduce tools to better plan and manage the extraction in safe conditions. Waste management and stockpiling forms are integral part of this support function.
