The Position

Business Development & Strategy Director

Job Summary

Position- Director of Strategic Initiatives

Shape, drive, lead and coordinate business growth projects and strategies by evaluating external opportunities including Acquisition targets, JV’s, and partnerships. Work closely with Corporate Teams and Internal Business Partners to support the execution of the company’s growth plans. Foster relationships with Sr. Management with internal and external partners. This position will manage cross business and cross functional teams through all phases of the potential deal process. 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

·        Partner with senior management, internal leaders and external advisors to develop comprehensive M&A strategies in attractive core and adjacent growth areas.

·        Build differentiated relationships with management teams, Corporate M&A team, financial sponsors, strategic partners, advisors, lenders and industry experts to create pipeline of attractive and actionable M&A opportunities.

·        Lead internal and external teams to identify, prioritize, evaluate, recommend and execute strategic transactions that fit within our M&A strategies.

·        Contribute to the structure and negotiation aspects of a wide range of M&A transaction types.

·        Lead teams of internal and external resources to perform primary and secondary due diligence on prospective target companies including strategic rationale, market assessment, valuation, functional diligence, cultural fit and financial impact.

·        Partner with internal leadership teams to develop post-deal operating strategies and lead initial phases of integration.

·        Lead, develop and coach junior team members.

·        Responsible for ongoing tracking and reporting of activity to senior management.

·        Clearly define and communicate the Acquisition Business Plan /or Project Objectives across the cross functional business team.

·        Clearly define functional work streams & road map in order to successfully achieve business plan/project objectives

·        Identify key risk areas, mitigation plans and closely track progress

·        Ensure a clear transition/ownership of functions as defined within the functional organization. 

Key Performance Indicators Associated with Role

·        Strong pipeline of potential deals developed that are executable. 

·        Successful closure of deals that enhance business growth programs

·        Deliver key objective and performance of business plan or project plan

·        Collaboratively work with cross functional team 

·        Clear executive summaries on status of projects

Education/Experience Requirements

·        5+ years of relevant M&A experience required which includes corporate development, private equity, investment banking and/or transaction advisory services.

·        Bachelor Degree Required, MBA desired
