The Position

Process Manager

Job Summary

The Process Manager, working within the PM APAC Centre of Excellence (CoE) Support Team, has the responsibility to support and deliver professional expertise on current and new industrial mineral processes, proposes and executes optimization, efficiency and cost competitiveness improvement initiatives and enhance the energy efficiency of processing  for the operational  assets across PM APAC, comprising 31 plants within 7 distinct Industrial Hubs and eight minerals (Carbonates, Kaolin, Talc, Feldspar, Halloysite, Ball Clay, Diatomite and Perlite). The Process Manager will work alongside similar Process Manager and experts within the CoE Support Team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Member of the PM APAC Centre of Excellence Support Team to provide advice and solutions to the operating Industrial Hubs on plant processes to optimize efficiency, productivity, quality and safety

  • Delivers expertise in mineral processing and equipment to provide process fixes for the plants

  • Coordinates technical development of new processes

  • Optimizes existing processes with state of the art technologies in order to optimize efficiency, productivity, quality, safety and profitability

  • Participates actively to the development of new products by bringing technical support and expertise

  • Provides mentorship for on-site process teams, also via technical training and to transfer of Process knowledge.

  • Actively support the PM APAC projects managers in production capacities designing/engineering

  • Provides in-depth technical assistance to solve complex process issues and to optimize plant equipment performance

  • Develops a strong expertise in a specific field which enable him/her to intervene on critical fix-it issues 

  • Key interfaces: ensures tight coordination with BA Industrial Hub Directors, Operational Managers, Site Process Teams and the CoE

  • Reviewer of plant Capex related to process equipment proposals

  • Optimization and continuous improvement initiatives, in close coordination with the respective Industrial Hubs

  • Energy efficiency optimization.

Key competencies 

  • Technical knowledge and competency in mineral processing across different minerals

  • Experience of dry milling or wet milling of carbonates processes

  • Overall knowledge of all aspects in an operating plant (Safety, Production, Quality, Process, Capex…)

  • Project Management skills

  • Demonstrated capabilities of reaching cost reduction and productivity

Ideal background/ experience

  • Engineering degree: MSc in industrial or mechanical or process engineering

  • Mineral Processing experience (as a plant process engineer) is mandatory, with a proven track record in process improvement KPIs

  • Demonstrated understanding of mineral or chemical processing, engineering, chemistry, strong problem-solving skills is a plus

  • 8+ years’ experience in a similar industrial environment


  • English language is key; knowledge of other languages is an added advantage
