The Packaging & Shipping Supervisor directs and coordinates the activities of packaging and shipping along with logistic activities to ensure the site safely and productively meets expectations.
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly supervise and schedule the packaging and shipping personnel in the performance of daily activities as needed to meet goals and objectives.
Provide leadership and performance counseling as needed to the hourly workforce.
Exercise positive reinforcement as well as corrective action.
Provide front line processes, technical expertise, and problem solving as needed.
Prepare and maintain shipping records and schedules.
Aid maintenance with project design, implementation, installation, and troubleshoot existing processes and equipment.
Prepare requisitions, order supplies and parts, receive incoming freight and supplies, collect and process related documents.
Provide necessary inputs to the strategic planning and budgeting process.
Lead department meeting with hourly employees
Enforce existing and develop KPI’s for the Packaging Department
Drive Safety Culture within Packaging & Shipping
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree in business, engineering, or a related discipline or equivalent (5+ years) supervisor experience
OSHA & MSHA a plus
5+ years of Packaging and Shipping experience
Lean Green or Black Belt Certification a plus.
