From HTS Iron and Steel strategy, ensure delivering value propositions to customers and achieve competitive advantage. Enhance the overall customer experience by offering expected product range and competitive pricing.
Ensure smooth interactions with all involved departments: Science & Technology, Sales, Technical Support to make sure new solutions projects are well managed and solutions properly implemented.
HTS I&S Strategy implementation
To well understand the market attractiveness by application in terms of actors– size – technical challenges – competition and product value. Understand customer challenges and pain points and be proactive in devising solutions.
To ensure new product application for customer entry and long term customer retention - Understanding of the product application at Iron and Steel/customer end, analysis of the product performance according to the specs, technical suitability of for application, benefits to customer, any other related technical issues , answering of and helping in resolving customers’ technical queries/clarifications, carrying out product trials as required.
Develop new and underserved markets by introducing products/services as upgrades to existing materials. Participate in assisting customers in mature markets with product improvement through advanced materials and creative design improvements, as well as services.
Active involvement in New Product Development and Innovation aligned with evolving customer needs.
To interpret and report the findings of technical work verbally and in writing within Imerys and externally.
To conduct and undertake projects in the areas of customer support, operations support, geographical expansion, product development and research and innovation.
Collect, interpret and report on competitors’ products and level of technical support.
Define I&S HTS products and services specificities compare to competitors
Manage qualification process at customers for new global offers.
Act as technical ambassador for his/ her area of expertise in external communication (customer technical training, participation in external knowledge sharing, fairs & conferences, etc.)
Technical support in finalizing global solutions recommendation for customers by analysis of technical parameters, relevant tests and suitability to application. Continuous support to respond to customers' changing needs.
Identify technical opportunities on existing products to optimize value proposition
Identify unmet technical needs of customers and therefore potential new products/solutions
Draft technical and sales documentation ·
Perform internal technical training, keeping the team up-to-date on new and existing technical information.
Develop and track KPIs to validate new product and services effectiveness
BSc degree in metallurgy, chemical engineering, minerals related science, materials or other relevant subjects.Master as a plus.
Basic training and understanding of industrial marketing, strategy concepts
Minimum 5-7 years related strong experience in Metallurgy with steel process equipment experience
Background in R&D or technical sales/marketing or business development.
Strong technical, analytical and decision-making skills.
Customer oriented - Ability to decode the customer needs and to design adapted solutions
Ability to summarize technical project work and to report and present findings for both internal and external use
Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to balance product application and customer needs.
Ability to lead projects in a collaborative matrix structure and to motivate cross functional teams and lead stroke participation decision-making processes in a team environment
Self-motivated - ability to lead and motivate the team.
English proficiency, additional language a plus.
