The Position

Laboratory Technician

Job Summary

UK – Ball Clays - Industrial Hub

Heathfield

Laboratory Technician – S3 (S4 upon completion of training)

A vacancy has arisen for a temporary Laboratory Technician – working days, within UK Ball Clays, based at Heathfield Laboratory in Newton Abbot. 

The main purpose of the role will be to carry out required testing on samples produced from the drilling/exploration team. To collate analysis data and produce reports on sample quality to the Senior QC team and Geologists. 

When available, to be able to carry out day to day testing, collate and analyse production data and produce reports on routine quality performance. Liaise with other internal and external laboratories or bodies, collate results for presentation to the Ball Clays management team.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • The ability to work within a laboratory environment, including the safe use of laboratory equipment and chemicals

  • A good standard of literacy, numeracy and IT skills

  • Be educated to GCSE level or higher (must hold a least one science qualification)

  • The ability to work as part of a team and have flexibility with regard to working hours

  • An ability to learn new skills and laboratory techniques
