Based at our plant in Sylacauga, Al, Imerys is hiring a Project Engineer to be responsible for the development of capital improvement projects from conceptualization through implementation. In addition to providing necessary technical evaluations and quantification of project variables to assure successful operation of completed installations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop testing processes, and perform testing and validation of new designs
Generate working prototypes for beta testing and customer demonstration
Perform engineering calculations to support design work
Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using computer software
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering maintenance and operations teams, and work with vendors and contractors
Perform detailed documentation to track project development and design process
Ensure project timeline is met and project stays within budget
Have familiarity with Project management and tools
Ensuring each project stays within the allocated budget and timeframe
Scheduling meetings and updating status regularly
Help maintaining Capital project approval process from start to finish developing and maintaining the budget
Update management on forecasting and reporting on capital spend
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering
2+ years of experience working in engineering
Firm grasp of engineering concepts, and experience designing mechanical and electro mechanical systems and products
Strong leadership , organizational and time management skills
Positive attitude and willingness to work long hours to finish targets
Excellent math skills: ability to apply advanced mathematical principles and statistics to solve problems
Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, 3D and 2D modeling tools or similar
Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability
