As the Human Resources Coordinator, you will serve as the first point of contact for all HR related inquiries while providing tactical HR support for employees and management across the Sylacauga, AL Plant. You will lead training initiatives and support the HR Manager in recruiting.
The Human Resources Coordinator will support benefits administration, payroll, training, performance management, recruitment, welfare, retirement and payroll within the Sylacauga Hub. This person acts as a liaison between employee and shared services group to resolve problems between employees, internal shared services (benefits, payroll, etc.) and ensure effective utilization.
The Coordinator will lead training and recruiting initiatives, working with local technical schools on apprentice programs and working with local colleges on intern and recent graduate recruiting.
This position provides administrative support to the HR function as needed (e.g., correspondence generation, record keeping, file maintenance, monthly headcount reporting and metrics, HRIS entry, new hires and terminations). The HR Coordinator also ensures administration and compliance in accordance with federal and state regulations.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage employee headcount reporting, tracking, and analysis
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HR systems and reporting, analysis tools and techniques
Administer and communicate on health and welfare plans, including new enrollments and the annual open enrollment period. Coordinate new hire benefits discussion and enrollment
Assists with recruitment and interview process. Tracks status of candidates in HRIS and responds with follow-up letters at the end of the recruiting process
Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files
Support and coordinate new-employee orientation and ensure employees gain an understanding of benefits plans and enrollment provisions
Ensure maintenance of employee personnel records as well as HRIS
Responds to employment verification requests
Training administration and support
Assists with processing of terminations
Assists or prepares correspondence as requested
Other applicable duties as assigned.
Education/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in human resources or business
A minimum of 3-5 years of HR experience, ideally in a plant environment.
