Job Summary

Our Business Area, Performance Minerals EMEA, services multiple markets including plastics, paints, and coatings, paper and board, filtration, life sciences, and ceramics. 

In numbers: €1.1Bn Sales, 80 Production Sites, 4 Technology Centers


Salin de Giraud plant is an Industrial site in South of France (13), specialized in mineral chemistry (precipitated calcium carbonate). The plant is part of the Carbonates Specialties Hub. It is composed of >60 employees, with a ~20 M€ turnover. It is running continuously (24/7) mainly due to the lime kiln operation. The site is certified ISO 9001, 14001 & 50001



  • Reporting to the Site Manager, the Process and Quality Manager is part of the Executive Committee of the plant

  • Management of 7 employees in two sectors: Quality Control laboratory and New projects.

  • The Quality Control (QC) Laboratory is in charge from Raw Material qualification (at external Quarry) to the final product validation. It is also in charge of Utilities (boiler, cooling tower) and Environment (waste treatment station) analysis.

  • The New Projects department deals with investment projects (about 1.5 M€/y).



  • Safety: responsible for implementation and compliance with Imerys safety rules (implementation 5S & Must Have).

  • Coordination mainly with the Production team & Logistics team (in relation Sales) to implement the QC analysis planning with regular reviews (weekly) and improve laboratory performance.

  • Engineering studies and execution of the plant’s investment projects.

  • Industrial Improvement: process yield, energy efficiency, CO2 emissions, out of specs products & waste reduction.

  • As Quality Manager: in charge of Quality System Management (ISO).



Inside the company 

  • Frequent interactions with the other functions of the plant: Manufacturing, Maintenance, Logistics, EHS, Purchasing & Procurement, IT, etc. 

  • Link with the Operational Excellence team (I-Cube) at Hub level and with the Center of Excellence (CoE) at BA level

  • Link with R&D department present on site (pilot plant)

  • Benchmarking with other Imerys sites


Outside the company

  • Link with suppliers for Improvement & investment projects

  • Networking with Industrial neighbours




  • Engineering degree

  • At least 5 years experience in an Industrial Environment, ideally in the Chemical or Mineral industry, with Operations and Management responsibilities

  • French and English fluent



  • Some knowledge in Industrial Project Management

  • Ability to drive improvement and management change
