The Position

Technical Account Manager

Job Summary

As the Technical Account Manager you will support the sales and drive business & market developments within the Building Products segment, in the Microspheres, Ceiling Tiles, Joint Compounds, O&G and Mining markets

  • Location: Home based or Atlanta

 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare budget, sales plans and forecasts for his/her perimeter. Review sales performance against targets

  • Execute the commercial roadmaps developed for their segment or products or geography and liaise with marketing teams for all this

  • Coordinate effectiveness of sales and development strategies including / ensuring appropriate analysis and action plans are in place

  • Apply business routines that are servicing existing customer base at (or surpassing) expectations and developing new growth opportunities in each circuit and market segment

  • Identify sales development targets, elaborate and implement appropriate development strategy 

  • Act as a link between customers, R&D and Operations on new product development

  • Manage qualification process at customers for new products

  • Management of significant customer quality issues

  • Respond to customers on significant quality issues and analyze causes and possible solutions

  • Lead trial management at the customer site and supervise trials at Imerys plant on new products

  • Help / Negotiate contracts with customers. Work with the legal department to prepare the contract. Ensure contract follow up

  • Implement actions requested by Customers through the visit reports

  • Implement the pricing strategy in coordination with the segment sales director

  • Manage market intelligence through the CRM tool on its perimeter

  • Support claim management (Smiles)

 Education/Experience requirements:

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering, experience with technical support is a plus

  • Proven track record in Sales & Account Management

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as negotiation capabilities

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • 5 + years experienced in a similar role

  • Willingness to travel (up to 50%)
