The Position

Executive – Logistics North & West India & Trading Platform

Job Summary

Job Scope/ Dimensions :

This position reports to the Manager logistics - North and West.

Dotted line to the Trading Platform Manager India

Scope: inbound and outbound flows to/from warehouses in Wankaner / Surani and Mundra.

Management of inventory.

KPIs: On Time Shipped / On Time In Full, Truck waiting time, Customer complaints related to logistics, EHS KPIs, transportation costs.

Inventory level, Days Of Inventory, Full compliance to Warehousing protocol as per Imerys guidelines.

The employee should be working in very close coordination with the Sales and Plant manager to ensure OTIF is delivered . The employee should also be a key point of contact for transporters and customers for vehicle arrangement and loading as per Imerys protocols. The employee needs to work in close coordination with CHA , Finance and other team members for inwarding supplies from Mundra to the plant .

Key Tasks and Responsibilities :

Manage distribution and dispatch planning, ensure meeting OTS set and optimization activities:

  • From the sales forecast and customer order received, coordinate with the production department to plan and select the optimal transport contractor and monitor and ensure the shipping plan is implemented as planned.
  • From production plans between production unit in and outside, and from inventory at warehouses, to plan material transportation between warehouses to optimize space for production.
  • Preparing paperwork and working with relevant authorities to ensure that transportation is in time and complies with local compliance and laws.

Manage inventory:

  • Support regular review of Min Stock Levels, Replenishment Level, Lead times.
  • Order request for replenishment of goods in ERP based on Sales forecast, Supply Planning.

Improve service quality:

  • Optimize process and increase coverage, anticipates key issues with advance resolutions, CRM coordinator for logistics related remarks / complaint
  • Ensuring the quality of the delivery service to the customer: from the quality of the package to the load, quantity and condition of the goods; As well as ensuring the transfer of invoices to customers within the prescribed time.
  • Regularly monitor and evaluate service provider and vendor performance.
  • Build partnerships with new and existing service providers.
  • Resolve any arising problems or complaints

Optimize in-country main variable costs:

  • transport & shipping optimization, wastage reduction, efficient operating method, services, capex categories with Total Cost of Ownership approach.

Continuous improvement:

  • Apply in-country supply chain strategy/policy and support regional initiatives. Bring market and regulatory knowledge and ideas with continuous research for improvements of current process. Develop and implement the best logistics practices (including Safety and Sustainable development)
  • Recommend & review impact of logistics changes, such as routing, product volumes and report results to others.

Data management:

  • Improve usage of ERP, maintain accuracy of distribution database and all related information in ERP (Enterprise Resources Planning) in order to optimize work efficiency and decision making process.
  • To update daily the ETD date in Accpac for chips for local delivery and collection.        
  • Close collaboration with other functions in particular Operations, EHS, I.T, S&OP leader, Sales, Purchasing and Finance;
  • Doing other works as assign by the Direct Manager

Environmental :

  • Reviews environmental audits for logistics activities to ensure processes are as environmentally friendly as possible.

Job Specifications :

Education and Experience requirements:

  • A Bachelor/Master Degree in Management/ Commerce / Science along with a certificate course in logistics / SCM will be an added advantage .
  • More than 3 years of Supply Chain/Procurement /Logistic related experience in the manufacturing industry..

Knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics:

  • Management, Communication & Influential skills.
  • Customer focused.
  • Knowing Local language is added advantage
  • Problem solving skills & flexibility
  • Good knowledge in Sales Tax Act/Road Transport Rules/Way bill/Transit bills
  • Google Sheets / Slides (or MS-Office Excel / Powerpoint), ERP (ACCPAC), use of CRM will be an added advantage.
