The Position

Energy Engineer, North America

Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY:

Supports energy related initiatives aiming at reducing Business Area energy consumption and costs to improve Imerys' cost competitiveness and meet regulatory / emissions constraints.

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implements energy related industrial KPIs

  • Aligned to IMERYS’ North America Energy Strategy Plan, manage the development, design, and construction of energy conservation projects to ensure acceptability of budgets and timelines, ensuring conformance to federal / state laws and adherence to approved specifications

  • Monitor Energy usage, efficiency, practices and costs in order to identify improvement opportunities

  • Participate in I-Nergize (IMERYS’ Centre of Excellence energy efficiency audits) in BA plants as the Energy Analyst, incl. diagnostics, action plan definition, savings assessment

  • Provides coaching of energy / process experts in the field. Provides in the field technical support to major energy efficiency initiatives

  • Key interfaces: coordination with Regional Improvement Managers, Regional and plant technical and engineering personnel

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

KEY COMPETENCIES:

  • Knowledge of energy consumption / usage / practices in various process industries

  • Strong Project Management skills

  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving

  • Continuous Improvement mindset

  • Ability to positively influence teams in a matrix organization 

  • Able to communicate (written and verbal) with personnel at all levels

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent

  • Experience gained in energy intensive industrial processes (> 5 years) 

  • Up to 50% Travel

  • Home Based
