The Position

Warehousing and Transload Logistics Manager

Job Summary

Based at our headquarters in Roswell, GA, we are hiring a Warehousing and Transload Logistics Manager responsible for the management of warehouses and transload logistics.

Job Summary:

  • Warehouse network design - analyze current state baseline, review alternative solutions, recommend optimizations, and implementation accordingly. 

  • Transload - manage 7 to 10 sites. Set inventory targets, replenishment points, schedule replenishment shipments, and shipments to customers. Track factory performance for on-time replenishment railcar shipping, as well as last mile delivery performance from transload sites. 

  • NA Warehouses - management of 7 to 10 sites.
    Scope new transload and warehousing capabilities in support of the sales team for new customer opportunities to further organic growth. 

  • Track, manage, and optimize service cost components

  • Champion continuous improvement opportunities for current processes within the role in order to foster further simplification, visibility, and efficiency. 
     

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Network Design development of  warehousing and transload baseline, then define service and cost opportunities for implementation. 

  • Collaborate with commercial teams on go-to-market strategies for potentially leveraging warehouses and transload sites as competitive advantage. 

  • Manage transload inventory and railcar cycles times per established inventory and service plans. 

  • Create truck delivery sales orders against forecasted customer demand in AX for shipping products.

  • Hold accountability for transload site demurrage along with identifying and resolving root causes.

  • Interpret sales forecast from commercial into demand along with maintaining appropriate safety-stocks levels for variability in demand. 

  • Root cause resolutions - identify constraints, root causes, developing solutions, implementation, and tracking.

  • Audit  and approve invoices for warehouse and transload services.

  • Hold internal/external parties accountable for any delayed shipments or challenges to be resolved.

  • Identify potential inventory challenges as leading indicators in order to prevent impacting service to the customers, working closely with demand S&OP planners.

  • Capture ad-hoc cost and escalate to appropriate party and/or rebill when appropriate.

Key Skills and Attributes:

  • Problem solving, complex, and decentralized inventory planning
    Oral and written communication with internal and external contacts.

  • Project Control and reporting. 

  • Capacity to develop recommendations based on robust and quantitative cost & service driven evaluation of alternates

  • Execution strategy definition and risk analysis.

  • KPI and corrective action plan development.

Education / Experience Requirements:

  • Supply Chain, Logistics or Warehouse management experience.
    Excel proficiency.

  • ERP experience preferred.

  • Working knowledge of truck, rail, and warehousing.

  • BA- Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Logistics & Transportation

  • Analytical process driven mentality, with affinity for resourcefulness and self driven entrepreneurial style. 

  • Travel up to 15%- 25% depending on project requirements
