The CAR Mining & Holding Controller supervises and manages general accounting teams to accurately prepare financial statements and ensure statutory compliance at local & consolidated accounting levels. The role supervises the month end close process and ensures quality internal controls in related financial processes. The Sub-cluster controller interacts regularly with relevant BA Industrial Controller, FP&A Controller and SSC Managers to ensure accurate accounting on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Ensure financial reporting in accordance with Local GAAP (or IFRS) and Company policies.
Supervision of the monthly site closing including validation/reconciliation of operational topics (Mining, Inventory, Production, Maintenance, etc.)
Review & validate monthly P&L and Balance Sheets
Supervise the site level development of standard cost, budgets, forecast and other ad hoc analysis to support BA profitability analysis
Supervise the financial reporting & consolidation phases of the accounting cycle
Directly responsible for interactions with External Auditors and achievement of audit deadlines (Full scope and Statutory audits)
Directly responsible for management & implementation of internal controls for related financial processes
Manage relationships with CAR stakeholders (primarily BA) and functional support areas (SSC and other back office)
Support, develop, and manage CAR continuous improvement initiatives as directed
Support Projects as directed (Transformation, M&A, Systems, etc.)
Provide financial data and ad hoc analysis as requested
Skills and Attributes Requirements:
Deep knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP, IFRS), practices, standards, laws and regulations, tax computations
Understanding of industrial processes and cost accounting principles
Strong communication and demonstrated analytical skills are critical.
Attention to detail and ability to influence others will be needed.
Comfort working in a dynamic environment and ability to multitask,
Strong Collaboration skills and ability to work cross functionally
Proficient in English, Good written and oral communication skill
Ability to create a strong bonds with other people, inspires trust and confidence in both his peers, senior, and external partners
Proficient in financial software such as Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Google suite package
B.S., Accounting, Finance or related field
10+ years experience in finance, accounting or related field including experience with Manufacturing or Distribution operations
A strong experience in managing and developing a Finance / accounting teams
