The Position

Marketing & Business Development Manager - Board & Packaging - EMEA

Job Summary

Role ​:

  •  Will have a hands on style to execute the growth strategy in collaboration with Sales & Marketing Directors, the R&D team, the product managers and Operations process team, M&A, along with external stakeholders (partners, customers, suppliers). 
  • To actively contribute to the business evolution into Packaging solutions and towards Sustainability principles.
  • To be able to propose and then position (or take forward) strong commercial market opportunities  

Responsibilities :

Marketing Development & Support 

  • Market intelligence gathering and development (market, trends, production, capacity, competitive environment etc). Define strategies and opportunities then liaise with sales and tech support counterparts on implementation.
  • New product development projects, prepare documentation and actively support technical and sales teams until full commercial launch & required tools

Strategic Project Management 

  • Lead cross functional teams facilitating the execution of actions and to meet the objectives. Prepare and lead regular reviews, including presentations to Senior Management.
  • Lead development projects from inception to success and with significant capex justifications.
  • Delivery on the projects financials (revenue, margin, costs) and timeline

Business Development, building business opportunities & M&A

  • Drive external contact with end users and Brand owners
  • Propose partners for growth in support of the strategies including acquitional opportunities..
  • Identify and orientate Imerys for new approaches to market in development of the CSR strategy

Accountability :

  • Preparing and supporting the new business growth aligned with B&P budget and strategic plans 
  • Lead the projects which she/he’s in charge of to successful completion & actively support other projects as a team member.

Competencies and experience :

Key competencies 

  • Hands on style with good business sense to actively seek and build new development opportunities
  • Ability to manage complex projects and or leading cross functional teams 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with minimum supervision and deliver results in due time, working on the right priorities.
  • Strong project and informal team management skills in order to mobilize the team around the objective
  • Good presentation and communication skills across multiple organisational layers.
  • Ability to build productive internal and external relationships
  • Adaptable to change and exhibiting style flexibility.
  • Technical appreciation to be able understand how our products can add value to the customer
  • Expected travel time is 30 - 50 %

Ideal background/ experience

  • Masters degree level in Science, Engineering or Business.
  • Strong experience of project management
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in marketing or business development in complex products.
  • Experience of packaging and or consumer goods would be advantageous
