The Position

Reporting Manager

Job Summary

The Reporting Manager is responsible for managing the Monthly/Quarterly reporting process as well as coordinating central topics across the North American scope  to improve the general accuracy and efficiency of the overall accounting results.  The role includes project management, continuous improvement, management reporting,  and acts as a central resource  to support the general needs of the group.  The Reporting Manager interacts regularly with Controllers, with relevant Accounting and Industrial Controllers, FP&A Controller, SSC Managers, etc.  to help ensure accurate accounting on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis.


Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure financial reporting in accordance with Local GAAP (or IFRS) and Company policies.

  • Manage the financial reporting phase of the accounting cycle to ensure group deadlines are achieved

  • Manage the implementation of internal controls for related financial processes.  Ensure clear followup on open CAR Internal audit findings and that remediation requirements are completed by  by established deadlines 

  • Manage relationships with CAR stakeholders (primarily BA) and functional support areas (SSC and other back office) including tracking key performance indicators and follow up actions

  • Manage, develop, and support CAR continuous improvement initiatives as directed

  • Act as project manager to drive Group or Regional level projects as directed (Transformation, M&A, Systems, etc.)

  • Act as a backup fo for CPA & Accounting Manager responsibilities

  • Manage centralized reporting topics (CIP Review, Insurance Valuation, etc.)

  • Act as a central resource to support cost accounting initiatives across the various manufacturing sites (development, standardization, etc.)

  • Prepare monthly Management Reporting

  • Provide financial data and ad hoc analysis as requested

Skills and Attributes Requirements:

  • General knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP, IFRS), practices, standards, laws and regulations, tax computations

  • Understanding of industrial processes and cost accounting principles

  • Demonstrated analytical skills are critical.

  • Attention to detail and ability to influence others will be needed.

  • Comfort working in a dynamic environment and  ability to multitask, 

  • Strong Collaboration skills and ability to work cross functionally

  • Proficient in English, Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Proficient in  financial software such as Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Google suite package


Education/Experience Requirements:

  • B.S., Accounting, Finance or related field with a Masters or CPA preferred

  • Minimum 5 years experience in finance, accounting or related field including experience with Manufacturing or Distribution operations

  • Project Management, Financial Analysis, Cost Accounting experience preferred

  • Infrequent travel primarily for the purpose of ad-hoc visit to production facilities

  • In office 3 days per week / Work from Home 2 days per week (on average)
