Provide production process information to management, coworkers, and subordinates.
Direct, supervise, and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in production process.
Monitor processes, materials, quality and surroundings to determine problems/issues while ensuring safety and good housekeeping compliance; recommend resolution.
Plan and establish work schedules and production sequences to meet weekly plan.
Maintain data systems for employee timekeeping and production.
Calculate/determine labor and equipment requirements, production specifications, and workload and ensure resource availability.
Review operations records and reports to determine feasibility of production estimates and evaluate current production.
Coordinate production interfaces including maintenance, quality assurance, and other groups such as technical, engineering, etc.
Confer with management to resolve production/employee issues/concerns.
Identify developmental needs of employees (training).
Perform duties of other process supervisor(s) in his/her absence.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor/manager.
Managing and coaching skills for personnel resources.
Effective verbal & written communication skills
Interpersonal skills to supervise a diverse work group.
Problem solving and ability to prioritize issues related to the efficient operation of the plant.
Strong math skills to calculate specific gravity, solids, blend percentages, tph, flow rates, and other pertinent plant information.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes software.
Bachelor degree in Engineering, Business, Mining, or related field preferred.
5 years of work experience in the production environment in mineral processing.
Work is performed in an industrial environment exposed to seasonal climate conditions; exposed to dust, noise, and uneven, slippery surfaces. Position requires 70% walking and/or standing. Required to climb stairs, ladders, and elevated platforms to a height of 75 ft.; lift, carry, and/or pull objects up to 50 lb.; operate company vehicle/forklift – Occasionally. Communicate with Operators, Maintenance, QA, and Supervisors - Constantly. Work with computer systems including PC, network, and process interfaces – Frequently.
