The Position

Communications Manager, Business Partner

Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY

Imerys is seeking a Communications Manager responsible for key support functions.

Experienced communications practitioner who, as one of a number of communications business partners, drives all communications activity in the functions ensuring it is entirely focused on the requirements of the business.

JOB SCOPE

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities:

  • A Business Partner, to develop and be accountable for the communications strategy supporting key central functions on a global scale.
  • Implement and cascade messaging towards these, and global, audiences. Work on dedicated communications plans for these functions.
  • Develop campaigns, manage content and implement the right communications & channels towards the different internal audiences.
  • Build & manage internal networks within these functions to ensure cascading of information.
  • Work closely with other functional Business Partners to ensure coordination and alignment of messages and activities.
  • Ensure campaigns and activity align and are communicated to the broader communication network.
  • Organizes internal events, sessions, town halls, etc. for these functions as appropriate.
  • Advise the functions’ senior teams on leadership communications, internal profile, personal comms style as part of the overall leadership comms program. 
  • Be the voice of the functions back into the comms team to ensure that all plans and activities are aligned.
  • Support the Employee & Leadership Communications Director on leadership programs.
  • Define appropriate KPIs to measure the performance of the different communication actions and adapt if necessary.
  • Work on transversal projects in an international and collaborative team within a dynamic and evolving context.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education: Degree level education with a specialization in communications; additional post-graduate level education or further training desired.

Experience: 7+ years in a communications agency or international company with internal communications.

Technical skills: excellent writing skills

Language: Perfectly fluent in English, French advantageous but not essential.

SPECIFIC JOB SKILLS:

  • Expert in internal communications
  • Excellent writing skills in English as well as the ability to translate abstract business concepts into meaningful ‘everyday’ language.
  • Able to have operational and strategic approaches
  • Ability to prioritise and multitask against a busy workload
  • Ability to manage relationships at all levels and strong “customer” service skills to effectively deal with the competing demands of various stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute projects on time and to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong organization skills: self-directed and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced environment whilst managing multiple projects.
  • Experience of international environments and cultural differences is advantageous.
