The Position

Sales Engineer

Job Summary

Imerys, world leader in mineral-based specialties, offering high value-added solutions to many different industries, ranging from process manufacturing to consumer goods. We are hiring a Sales Engineer to drive the sales efforts for the film and packaging markets within the NAPM business unit. There is a focus on finding, qualifying, and developing new opportunities in conjunction with the Science and Technology and Business Development teams.  This position has primary responsibility for customer follow-up, lead tracking and account maintenance and satisfaction  for the specified market.  

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Key point of contact for customers 

  • Develop and manage leads using CRM to have a direct impact on new sales 

  • Develop value-added sales support programs that will create additional competitive advantage for Imerys.

  • Develop monthly forecasts and variance reports.

  • Document customer activities through call reports and monthly reports.

  • Act as a valuable resource in the interface and communication between Imerys functions (production, product mgmt, and marketing) and the customer.

  • Implement periodic price increases as required by the business.

  • Other related duties as assigned by management

  • Outstanding customer interface skills

  • Ability to analyze situations and proactively develop improved processes

  • Ability to communicate well throughout all functions with NAPM

  • Have good commercial awareness.

  • Possess a drive toward continuous process improvement and customer satisfaction  

  • Excellent internal and external communication and relationship building skills.

  • Proficient computer skills, including spreadsheets and databases

Experience Requirements:

B.S. degree in a marketing or technical discipline with 1-3 years related commercial experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
