Operations - Rocks Dryer
A vacancy has arisen for a Site Engineer based at Rocks Dryer, Bugle, nr St Austell. The role is working Monday - Friday and reports to the Engineering Manager - Dry Processing and Treviscoe Bagging Plant.
Purpose of the role:
To support the Senior Day Captain and Engineering Manager, to ensure that the UK Industrial Hub obtains the maximum practical return on investments, by optimising the location’s maintenance, availability and life cycle costs of the installed equipment. To ensure all equipment can be operated without risk and potential improvements with best available technology are continually reviewed.
To provide engineering and technical advice to the Senior Day Captain, Site Engineering Team and Production Supervisors whilst supervising the site’s engineering activities including external contractors.
Support the site engineering team by planning and prioritising workloads, procurement of parts, project management of assigned Capex and Opex projects and fulfill the role of Line Manager to site engineering staff.
Indentured engineering apprenticeship or equivalent.
A further higher level qualification in an engineering discipline (e.g. HNC, HND or BSc/BEng).
Proven experience of promoting and adhering to safe working principles and to hold or be willing to undertake further training in this area, e.g. SHE NVQ level 3/4, IOSH Managing safely.
Experience of financial management; managing costs, capital expenditure, management of teams.
High degree of IT literacy with particular expertise around Microsoft Office applications, Google suite and IFS.
Understanding and experience of the majority of IML functions (Mining, Mineral wet processing and Dry processing, Milling, Calcination), underpinning a strong understanding of cross-functional resource issues, would be desirable.
Potential for strategic thinking and ability to manage all aspects of maintenance.
Knowledge of modern maintenance management techniques and commitment to keep up-to-date.
Knowledge of electrical, ICA, mechanical or chemical engineering with a working knowledge of the other disciplines.
Motivation, leadership, conceptual thinking and communication skills.
Flexibility, with the ability to work to demanding and changing priorities.
Flexible approach to working hours with a high level of commitment.
Demonstrated ability to get in depth understanding of process aims and product specifications requirement, to provide best equipment setting and maintain the process plant to achieve required quality standards.
Must be an efficient problem solver, in order to continuously improve both maintenance and production efficiency.
Efficient planner, fully competent in the use of planning sheets, Gantt charts and producing plans.
Able to communicate well at all levels, from subordinates to external partners to senior management.
Must be a willing participant and contributor to the whole production team, sharing responsibility for providing the customer with a quality product.
Full driving licence.
