JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE The role of the Sustainability Specialist is to support the definition, development and deployment of the Group Project Sustainability Assessment program (SSA tool - methodology and implementation).
Scope: The scope is global, covering existing products/segments and markets and also products/projects in development following the Group’s SSA methodology.
Nature of customers : Internal customers (business areas), Group stakeholders, external stakeholders (industry associations, WBCSD PSA group members, client requests for data/product sustainability, consultancy firms, etc.)
Results: database with Ecoprofile results for Group product portfolio (per Product Families), workshops and reports on market alignment, product/portfolio SSA mapping (heat map), development projects screening (innovation, Capex), support Marketing teams in presentation of the SustainAgility program to customers
Travels: Potential site visits to support studies/assessments/business reviews
Interfaces: Corporate CSR Team, BA CSR correspondant & SSA specialist , Product Stewardship, Environment, S&T, Marketing, Business Development, Legal, Communication
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide technical support and expertise on product sustainability related subject as required for the development and roll-out of Product Sustainability program, including but not limited to assessments (Ecoprofile calculation, Environmental Product Declarations, Life-Cycle-Assessments, qualitative impact assessments), planning, report generation, contribution to business reviews, etc. - Develop tool kit to support SSA assessments of Imerys product portfolio (both existing and new products) such as methodological guidelines, case studies, training sessions- Define KPI and roadmap and develop Group SSA scorecards in line with BA priorities- Conduct regular review of sustainability assessment results performed by BA (including LCA results) and ensure continuous improvement process- Compile and organise source data to build and then maintain a consistent and reliable LCA & Sustainability assessment Database, in line with existing and future IT and BI Tools- Support BA to respond to inquiries from Clients on product sustainability, policies or programs (in particular for BA where there are no dedicated resources)- Coordination of internal network of LCA ‘practitioners’- Ensure regular regulatory, normative and strategic watch (including competition) to support CSR strategy - Contribute to Imerys internal & external communication, positions paper or technical publication on Sustainability of Mineral products SKILLS / REQUIREMENT
• Engineering degree or Master Degree in a technical or engineering field• First experience (internship or alternance) in Life Cycle Assessment or CSR Initiatives • Fluent in English (B2 minimum)• Open Mindedness, Passionate and self-motivated on CSR topics• Ability to collaborate and work effectively across functions, with a various range of stakeholders• Strong data management, Critical analysis and capacity for synthesis, with the ability to organize, compile, interpret and present effectively• Ability to handle a variety of tasks/initiatives• Strong communication skills : written communication both in a form of scientific reports and in more popular-science publication + ability to communicate to all levels of the organization• Ability to facilitate meetings, workshops and provide trainings on CSR topics• Organization and Coordination skills
