Customer Service / Warehouse Supervisor

There is a vacancy for a Customer Service / Warehouse Supervisor working day shift, based in Leeds. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a wide variety of warehouse activities including purchasing, shipping and receiving materials and/or finished goods and maintaining inventory and associated records. Day to day running of the warehouse facilities and associated offices to include security, maintenance and general up keeping. People management responsibilities include hiring and training, planning and assigning daily work, conducting performance appraisals, addressing performance issues and resolving problems.


The purpose of the role will be:

  • To oversee the day to day running of the warehouse facilities, associated areas and offices

  • Oversee the planned maintenance of warehouse vehicles, machinery and equipment

  • To supervise direct reports including recruitment, training and discipline of staff

  • To provide a high level of customer service at all times

  • To respond to and deal with customer communication by email, fax and telephone

  • To deal with customer enquiries and process their requirements in a timely manner

  • To ensure the safe receipt, storage, retrieval and timely dispatch of goods

  • To ensure inventory transactions are accurately logged and overseeing cycle counts and reconciliation activities

  • To recommend measures to improve quality of service and operational efficiencies

  • Continuously improve warehouse operations through the use of lean enterprise practice

The successful applicant will:

  • Have proven history of stock and purchasing management

  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Have a high level of customer service skills and understanding customer needs

  • Have proven supervisory experience

  • Be proficient with MS Office, SAP or similar supply chain management software

  • Hold a full UK Driving Licence

  • Ideally hold an FLT Licence
