The Position

Opera Business Solution Manager - Order to Cash

Job Summary

JOB PURPOSE

The Opera Business Solution Manager responsibility is to ensure the success of the Opera Core Model design, provide a functional drive to SAP components during and after the Opera Core Model rollouts across Imerys Business Area (BA) and Functions through the management of the Business Solution Architects and related developments and support teams.

The Opera Business Solution Manager’s prime responsibility is to direct solution design, maintain a high level of SAP expertise and manage the resulting maintenance and evolution cycles for Opera Core Model.

The Opera Business Solution Manager is in charge of managing the SAP definition and maintenance of the following modules: Sales and Logistics activities for all Imerys Business and Function Areas.

JOB SCOPE/ DIMENSIONS

  • The role is directly responsible to manage up to 5 Business Solution Architects and up to 5 external resources

  • Opera Scope:

    • ERP : SAP S4/HANA

    • Applications designed to support Opera processes and which will be part of the Opera roll-out in addition to SAP ERP. 

    • Interfaces Between SAP ERP and satellite group applications (SalesForce.com,) or outsourced solutions (EDI with suppliers and customers).

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Opera Stream execution:

  • Ensure the relevance and timeliness of the progress of the Order to Cash solution

  • Ensure a proper quality and risk management in the Opera stream

  • Manage and coordinate communication with teams and the various stakeholders.

  • Prepare and lead the change process.

  • Track the conformance of work effort to budget, planned effort, schedule, and resources 

  • Maintain close global alignment with the core model during the rollout.

  • Prepare and communicate regular reporting to the management of IT and business stakeholders.

 

Opera Core Model Design:

  • Manage SAP application activities following the Opera Core Model methodology from preparation to user acceptance

  • This includes the management of application activities related to business requirements, analysis, solution design leading configuration, testing, documentation, training and acceptance

  • Define and evolve the Opera Core Model methodology (life cycle) 

 

Opera Core Model Rollout and Improvement:

  • Ensure close relationship with SAP, BI and EAI rollout project teams for Opera Core Model deployments across Imerys BA to ensure knowledge transfer and standard compliance with Opera rollout methodology

  • Ensure that Change Requests are properly understood and approved by Business Process Owners before any configuration and/or development

  • Ensure that the Business Requirements are effectively addressed through maximal and optimal standard configuration

  • Build and promote the Opera Core Model Methodology across IT organization

  • Ensure the functional management of Business Solution Architects and Consultants

 

Opera “run” activities:

  • Organize and facilitate changes and or evolution requests.  

  • Direct day to day operational support to meet service level agreements that will be established and maintained by working with the Business Areas and business functions.

  • Manages demand and supply of services to meet business needs by negotiating competing priorities within the business and functional areas.

  • Act as the Opera Change Control Gatekeeper in order to insure applications availability and efficiency.

 

Management:

  • Diagnose individual and group competence, identifying skill needs and skill gaps.

  • Review training and development options and select appropriate methodology taking into account the individual, program and business requirements.

  • Coach and/ or mentor individuals and teams to address development needs.



 

INTERNAL & EXTERNAL INTERACTIONS

Internal: Other Opera Business Solution teams and Opera Transversal teams, Business Process Owners and Business Process Experts, Business and IT Opera Wave Rollout teams, Business Partners from other departments (Purchasing, Finance, Sales and Logistics, Industrial), Business leaders

 

External: Suppliers, Sub-contractors

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

 

Education and Experience requirements

 

Essential

  • Master degree in Information System, Master in Management degree

  • 10+ years of experience in ERP implementation including at least 5 years of experience in project management role

  • Experience in leading teams in operation and project mode and geographically dispersed (multicultural management experience)
     

Desirable

  • Experience of working within a culturally diverse global company

  • English (Advanced), fluency in one or more other languages desirable.
