The Position

Industrial Improvement Project & PMO Director

Job Summary

Job  Scope

Reporting directly to the Group Industrial Improvement VP, the successful candidate will be in

charge of managing the Project Management Office of the I-Cube (Imerys Industrial Improvement) program. The I-cube program is a worldwide Continuous Improvement Initiative that Imerys rolled out in June 2014.

Job Summary

  • Be part of the central ICube team, globally strategizing, developing and implementing the future and path forward of the ICube journey

  • Lead ideation, development and implementation of practices and digital/non digital based working tools to improve capabilities of managers and employees across Imerys OPS

  • Collaborate and work closely with all organizational levels, from Senior Managers, to shop floor and vendors/suppliers

  • Supervise and perform PMO tasks for the I–Cube program including hands on project management (resources, planning, deployment..), design and spread information, training, presentations, etc to support I-cube progress, using all the Imerys Group web based systems. 

  • Develop and manage learning path, e-learnings, certifications and overall capability building of the ICube community (including managers and employees) of all different (relevant) functions (manufacturing, SC, maintenance, engineering, quality etc.)

  • Direct management of 2-3 engineers (based in India) supporting above mentioned activities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and shape strategy level activities supporting development of the ICube journey path forward for Imerys Operations

  • Hands on support on ICube implementation for OPS sites across the globe. Collaborating with site and above site functions

  • Lead and facilitate ICube related global and local projects of Lean, LSS and Industry 4.0 nature

  • Perform on-site ICube maturity assessments followed by supporting a plan of improvement activities.

  • Design and diffusion of information regarding I-Cube to all stakeholders (General Managers, Operations Director, Plant Managers). 

  • Develop and implement a communication plan to stimulate the I-Cube program.

  • Deployment of new web-based tools (project management tools for example) within the group, managing a small support team in India (2-3 engineers).

  • Training material development and learning path development in collaboration with Imerys Group services (e-learning modules, L&D, etc)

  • Conduct typical PMO activities to support the I-Cube Program such as global deployment planning, resources allocation, reporting to the Group Chief Industrial Officer, document sharing etc.

  • Networks and intranet communities’ animation (site managers, maintenance, process etc.) to stimulate good practice sharing. In particular, animation of a community of ~50 ICube managers

  • Facilitate seminars and various cross functional meetings for various populations (Site Managers, ICube Managers etc.) digital or live.

  • Set up benchmarking indicators between sites and divisions across the group. 

Skills and Attributes Requirements

  • Vast knowledge in Continuous Improvement, Lean Six Sigma, Industry 4.0

  • Leader of digital/IOT implementation projects, AA/ML/AI is a plus

  • Proven ability to work in a global matrix organization

  • Proven track record of working with Senior & non-Senior Management.

  • Project management skills, organized, time conscious, result oriented, etc 

  • Analytical/synthesis skills, structured, able to “connect the dots” 

  • Influencer, communicator, strong advocate of CI

  • Autonomous, creative, rigorous

  • Team player, ability to work in multi-cultural and geographical environment

  • Influencer and great communicator

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (and Google suite a +) and strong skills in learning new IT tools.

  • Fluent in English (any other languages appreciated)

Education/Experience Requirements

  • B. Sc. in Engineering or Equivalent technical degree (university)

  • Certified LSS Green/Black belt

  • Over 10 years of experience as OPEX/CI global manager and Operations manager (preferably as plant or site manager)

  • OPEX/CI global program management experience 

Personal requirements

  • Ability to travel at least 50% of the time (post Covid)

  • Position based in Paris (Imerys Headquarters) or any Imerys site in Europe
