Talc to boost vitrification
Talc is widely used in ceramic bodies and glazes for its contribution to firing behaviour, thermal stability and surface quality. It supports controlled vitrification, improved glaze–body fit and enhanced dimensional stability, helping manufacturers optimize firing conditions and product consistency.
Within the ceramics industry, talc is mainly used to
- Acts as flux booster for stoneware tiles
- Increases bulk density and whiteness of slabs body
- Prevents moisture expansion in porous wall tiles
- Enables satin-matt finishes and increases the viscosity of glazes
