In 2022, we achieved a 36% greenhouse gas emissions reduction in absolute terms (tCO2eq), as compared to our 2018 base year. We have set even more ambitious reduction targets for 2030.

EcoVadis placed Imerys in the 93rd percentile of all companies assessed in 2022, awarding us a score of 69/100 (well above the industry average of 43).

With the construction of a new onsite energy recovery plant, Imerys is capturing the feedstock energy contained in syngas, a by-product generated during the carbon black manufacturing. The project – a partnership with energy supplier E.On – will significantly reduce the environmental footprint of carbon black – a key additive  in lithium ion batteries serving the clean energy transition.

Land restoration project creates habitats for flora and fauna at closed quarry site in Provins, France

Imerys has rehabilitated its Savins quarry around the town of Provins in France, and located in a prominent farming area. The project has created an area rich in biodiversity. Particularly, the body of water has, among other successes, allowed the colonization of dozens of species of flora and fauna.
