The Position

General Ledger Accountant

Job Summary

In 2019, we established our first Shared Service Center (SSC) in Greece, with the goal of streamlining and optimizing financial operations for our entities across Europe. Today, the SSC plays a key role in our financial operations and has been recognized as a Great Place to Work, reflecting our commitment to quality, employee support, and a positive work environment.

We are actively looking for accountants to join one of our R2R (Report to Report) teams consisting of Banking and Treasury, Fixed Assets, Intercompany and General Accounting.  You will ensure accuracy and compliance of Group reporting with Group accounting policies under IFRS. As an SSC Accountant within our Process teams, you will play a key role in the delivering standardized, high quality, and timely financial services across the organization. Working within the General Ledger stream you will be responsible for executing end to end R2R activities including journal entries postings, balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations,  month end and year end activities and financial reporting for multiple business regions and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. You will ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial data, support compliance with accounting standards through  collaboration with internal stakeholders, regional finance teams.

Your Responsibilities (depending on the process team):

  • Preparation and posting of journal entries, 

  • Bank postings and clearing of CIT accounts, 

  • Execution of controls for the assigned perimeter, 

  • Preparation of BS reconciliation according to the group policy 

  • Daily cash management

  • Bank reconciliation 

  • Current account posting & reconciliation (interest, hedging, loans etc)

  • Performance of month-end closing activities

  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of intercompany accounts to ensure all balances are accurate and discrepancies are resolved promptly

  • Preparation of monthly reporting packages (Sales, Cash Flow, Expense Analysis)


 

Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business is considered as a plus

  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in Accounting or related financial services roles

  • Fluent in English (any other language is considering as a plus)

  • Experience with ERPs (experience with SAP4 Hana will be a plus)

  • Working knowledge in Ms Office and/ or G sheets 

  • Having worked in a SSC environment would be a key asset

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to negotiate with key accounts

  • Positive attitude and a commitment to providing exceptional service to clients

  • Comfortable working with strict deadlines
