When it comes to graphite for use in hard metal applications to produce tungsten/Wolfram Carbide (WC), producers want and need a source of carbon that is very pure and highly crystalline.

We deliver tailor-made graphite and carbon black solutions for hard metal applications that are consistently high in purity and crystallinity, and extremely accurate in terms and particle size distribution and oversize control. Final applications include cutting tools for machining, mining, foundation drilling, engineered components, carbide drills, turning, milling and metalworking tools.

Our TIMREX high purity synthetic graphite powders are widely used for the production of hard metals such as tungsten carbide. We also offer high purity ENSACO carbon black which is suitable for the synthesis of nano-sized tungsten powders starting from tungsten oxide.

Our long history in the hard metals market means that our high purity, high consistency primary synthetic graphite powders, such as TIMREX® KS4, KS6, KS15, can be offered with tailored specifications on maximum levels of impurities like sulphur, calcium, silicon, iron, that are detrimental for hard metals manufacturing.

In addition to graphite, we also offer high purity carbon black with high BET. The high reactivity of ENSACO® carbon black makes it particularly suitable for the synthesis of nano-sized WC powders starting from tungsten oxide.
