Highly pure and reactive graphite for powder metallurgy applications

Graphite is commonly used in powder metallurgy as an alloying element that increases the strength of sintered parts. Here, it is important to have graphite that is both high in purity and reactivity in order to cut production times and deliver a finished product that is dense, with high tensile strength. Consistent high quality is required in order to secure process stability.

We combine our innovative leadership with longstanding expertise and capabilities to develop and optimize graphite-based solutions for powder metallurgy that ensure consistent reliable and high-performance metal powders. This range of products also includes different grades of carbon black solutions ideal for mixing with the latest high performing alloys.

Our tailor-made solutions developed with our customers ensure the consistency of key product parameters such as high purity, high crystallinity, particle size distribution, efficient sintering, flowability and oversize control.

Our TIMREX line of natural and synthetic graphite powders ensure optimal compaction and sintering of iron-based structural components with high dimensional stability and high mechanical performance. The addition of a small quantity of ENSACO carbon black can further improve flowability and apparent density of a powder mix, while reducing weight scatter of green parts and improving dimensional stability after sintering.
