The Position
Logistics Project CoordinatorJob Summary
Role
• Responsible for overseeing the planning, on-time execution and management of projects that involve supply chain activities
• Optimize the flows of performance mineral products across Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) countries, be it from a quantitative (cost reduction, C02 emissions reduction …) or qualitative (tools, processes, methods …) perspective
• Perimeter: Performance Minerals EMEA business area, 80 sites and offices, 25 countries, 1.2 billion turnover
Responsibilities
• Get in depth understanding of Transwide (Transport management system for road transportation): become central administrator
• Continue to design and rollout Transwide prebilling solution
• Contribute to the specification definition and implementation of an EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) solution between SAP and forwarding agent for container shipment
• Train employees on the new processes and procedures developed
• Prepare presentations of projects findings & progress
• Identify and compile data for appropriate indicators
• Assist in the analysis, design and development of optimized logistics plans
• Work transversally with operations and logistic to ensure optimized plans produced are executable
• Lead the implementation of optimized plans and coordinate with other departments
Accountability
• Transwide central administration & prebilling solution design and rollout
• Container shipments tool, through EDI (booking, follow up …)
• Other ad hoc logistics optimization projects
Competencies and experience
Key competencies
Strong understanding of logistics processes and operations
Analytical reasoning skills
Data analysis tools proficiency
Strong interest in IT tools (ERP, Transport Management System …)
Self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively
APICS/Lean/Six Sigma certifications are a plus
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, detail-oriented
Communication skills including solid writing and presentation abilities
Ability to work with multicultural teams
Flexibility to travel up to 30%
Ideal background/ experience
Master degree in supply chain
Good level of English
>5 years experience in logistics, ideally in an industrial environment
