The Position

Marketing Manager - Minerals in polymers / Green mobility EMEA

Job Summary

In charge of analyzing marketing intelligence (market, customer, competition, technology) and Imerys business performance to define and implement the market strategy (priority markets, product offering, and value proposition) in collaboration with the commercial & innovation teams in the market polymers, rubbers & thermosets. Focus of most projects is supporting Automotive industry mutation towards electrical vehicle. Scope EMEA.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the strategy by segments and product portfolio 
  • Collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative information from Imerys and 3rd party sources to understand demand trends, production, capacity and trade flows situation as well as mineral usage mapping.   
  • Analyse Imerys business, market shares, competitive environment and behavior, strengths and weaknesses.
  • Develop strategy for the transversal projects in collaboration with the segment Sales, R&D tech support Directors and Marketing managers/Director.
  • Drive and coordinate innovation / new product development
  • Generate ideas of potential new products, maintain a dynamic product portfolio pipeline. 
  • Coordinate new products development projects with R&D teams, assess market and project potential, identify the value proposition with sales teams.
  • Prepare the launch pack for commercial launch
  • Support commercial and business development effort
  • Follow development of business and new opportunities vs the segment strategy through our monthly sales database and CRM
  • Establish and sustain contacts with key value chain stakeholders: compounders, equipment manufacturers, OEMs and end-customers to understand the market drivers and develop promoters / prescriptors
  • Operational marketing : Define marketing operational plan with communication team (sales tools, trade shows participations, communication incl.digital)

Accountability

  • Developing a strategy for the market and the follow-up of its implementation
  • Driving Marketing Mix and new product needs
  • Support commercial development and promotion
     

Competencies & Experience

  • Project management skills with hand on mindset experience in implementing, quantifying positive impact
  • Ability to understand complex organisation and technical products, to structure, simplify, adapt.
  • Ability to think out of the box, innovate, multitask, high energy level, autonomous, self-starter
  • Strong business sense and ability to interact effectively with people from all backgrounds and levels
  • Collaborative style and good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to positively influence others w/o direct reporting lines, especially Sales and Technical teams
  • Experience in conducting transversal projects in an international matrix organisation
  • Experience in strategic marketing : new product development & launch, 5 year plan strategy 
  • Ideal background/ experience
  • MBA or Master Degree in Business / Marketing and/or Engineering degree 
  • 8-10 years experience in industrial marketing/project management  in the industry and/or BtoC with technical products
  • Full professional proficiency in English
  • Ideally, experience in the plastics/ automotive industries and supply chain
  • Preferred location: Paris
