Compressibility & cohesion
The minerals in our ImerCare® range provide natural ways to improve cohesion in dry and wet processed powders.
Natural ways to prevent cosmetics cracking
Highly prized in make-up applications, natural mica has unique optical and physical properties that make it ideal for powder foundations, eye shadows and blushes. However, its incorporation rate is generally limited due to the lack of cohesion it can produce in pressed powders.
Sustainably sourced from our mica deposit in northwest France, our 100% natural, ImerCare® 6M mica grade has been carefully engineered so that it can be incorporated at high levels in powder based make-up products while still providing a much sought-after transparent and luminous finish.
ImerCare 6M mica grade:
- Can be incorporated at a high percentage
- Is highly cohesive compared to a standard mica
- Provides good pick-up and sensorial properties
- Imparts high whiteness and transparency
- Offers a good compromise between matte finish and luminosity
ImerCare®talcs* are also ideal for preventing cracking in dry- and wet-processed pressed powders and compacts. Compared to standard talcs and other additives used in pressed powders, our premium talc product ImerCare® Dolce grades demonstrates high fracture resistance, improving the compressibility and cohesion of dry pressed powders and compacts.
The new global trend for producing pressed powders is to use a wet processing method that consists of adding the powder in a slurry form and then vacuum pressing it to produce the dry pressed powder. Conventional talcs are susceptible to cracking during this process, but ImerCare® SheerSilk and Velluto talcs are compatible with wet processes, solving this problem and successfully preventing cracking.
All our cosmetic products are natural, high quality, chemically inert and offer good skin tolerance. They are not treated with chemicals during processing. These attributes enable them to be used in cosmetic products that comply with cosmetic directive regulation (EC) n° 1223/2009.
All ImerCare talc grades are also Cosmos approved – certificates of origin and additional documentation are available upon request.
