Our range of food-grade talcs* are ideal gum base fillers, texturizing agents and anti-sticking agents in the manufacture of chewing gum and bubble gum.
Talc is soft, innocuous and organophilic, making it an ideal functional filler in chewing gum bases for both fruity and non-fruity flavors. Talc imparts excellent rheology and mouth feel to the gum base. Talc is also an ideal anti-stick powdering agent, preventing gum sticks from adhering to wrappers.
We recommend our food-additive Luzenac G20 F and Luzenac G40 talc grades as gum-base fillers, and our decontaminated grade Luzenac Pharma as a powdering agent in chewing gum applications.
Our food-additive talc grades are sustainably sourced from high-quality minerals from European mines wholly owned by Imerys. They are processed at our own facilities according to Good Manufacturing Practices.
All our talc food grades are registered for use as food additives under European Regulation (EC) 1333/2008, E553b (Annex II), and comply with required purity criteria for talc set out in European Regulation (EU) 231/2012.
They also comply with:
- The Food Chemicals Codex for talc
- Kosher and Halal food specifications
- And they don’t contain any food allergens
Process quality is guaranteed by:
- The HACCP plan in place at all sites
