Ultra lamellar talcs* and micas provide exceptional barrier properties in stain-blocking paints and primers. This is due to their lamellar structure, which forms a natural barrier, preventing stain migration over time.
We have a range of products designed for specific applications. Our SteaShieldⓇ 10 talc* grade is produced using an innovative, proprietary, milling process that dramatically increases lamellarity. It’s ideal to boost barrier properties in finishing paints and primers.
Our Mica MUⓇ M2/1 range is a highly lamellar grade with a 20µm top cut. Use it for primer applications to ensure superior stain blocking.
Both SteaShield and Mica MU M2/1 are cost-effective, easy-to-formulate stain-blocking solutions that function with both solvent and water-based systems.
Our Hydrite® SB60 and Hydrite® SB100 are high aspect ratio kaolins which have been mechanically proceeded to fully separate the individual plates. This increases the aspect ratio to produce a highly lamellar pigment. The platy nature of the product increases barrier properties such as stain resistance and improves the stain blocking performance in waterborne coatings.
