Celite® for plastics

Our range of natural diatomaceous earth solves antiblocking issues in polyethylene and polypropylene films.

Outstanding anti-blocking in plastic films

Blocking – when two or more layers of plastic stick together during production – can be a constant challenge when manufacturing polyethylene and polypropylene films.

However, there’s a simple, natural solution – diatomaceous earth (also known as Diatomite), a mineral with irregularly shaped particles that provide fewer film surface contact points and hence very low blocking force.

For superior anti-block performance in plastic films, use our Celite® product range. It’s a formulation of diatomaceous earth – the fossilized remains of diatoms, single-celled algae. When treated with very high temperatures, it develops unparalleled anti-blocking properties, suitable for plastic films made of polypropylene, polyethylene terephthalate and other polyethylene films.

In addition, it imparts improved optical qualities, such as increased film clarity and reduced haze, and better mechanical properties, so it’s a smart way to improve quality, while saying goodbye to the hassles of blocking.

Tell us your process challenges and we’ll find the right natural minerals to help you master them.
