Halloysite for ceramics

A natural mineral that gives exceptional whiteness and translucency to bone china and porcelain.

Add extra whiteness and translucency to fine china

We’re a leading supplier of high-quality halloysite to serve the fine bone china, porcelain and aluminous whiteware market.

Halloysite is an industrial mineral that is part of the kaolinite group. Like kaolin, halloysite is essentially composed of alumina-silicates, however, it has a hollow tubular crystal structure.

This makes it an ideal additive if you’re making thin porcelain, bone china, fine china and aluminous tableware.

Key properties of Imerys halloysite include:

  • Brilliant whiteness
  • High translucency
  • Reduction of pyro plasticity
  • Low iron and titanium content

We operate a high-value halloysite deposit in New Zealand, a key part of our offering for very white fine ceramics
